Plein Air Paintings
Plein air refers to the act of painting outdoors. In particular, all of these paintings were inspired directly by the scene in front of me. Many of these locations required a hike to a specific inspiring location. My main inspirations include Colorado and Utah. This style leans more toward realism through the medium of watercolors.
Dreamy Paintings
A big source of artistic inspiration for me comes from the feeling of being in nature, not just the physical scene of it. These paintings aim to capture the connection of nature and the cosmos in a more ethereal, and sometimes abstract, style. I use these paintings to practice perceived movement through fine line work of watercolors and cosmic color palettes.
